Sania or Bharat Mata?

This beautiful pictures adorns the front page of the Daily Telegraph today. The teenage fashion icon poses much as Britney or J Lo might — Mother India ensemble, colours of the flag, fity-ton marigold garland. We particularly like the glistening sword in place of the outmoded tennis racquet.

Why was the kid named “High Court”?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator @ 12:52 pm

Former Assam minister Rajendra Mushahary has a son named High Court.

The minister was charged with the rape of the mother of Mr Court. The criminal case went to the, er, Assam High Court, where a DNA test on the infant proved the father’s guilt. The matter was evidently resolved through the marriage of the criminal and his victim — a usual procedure for such crimes in India (don’t ask us how or why). In memory of his trial and tribulation, the infant came to be named High Court.

The matter came to be recalled since the venerable minister is now charged with raping a 12-year old “servant” (read slave) of his wife/victim. As you might have guessed, a variety of medical tests are underway, anthough the word “DNA” hasn’t entered the picture just yet.
