Sometimes you just don’t know where to begin. You just know what section to file this in.

There are hundred of TV channels of kinky music videos in India, and that sort of thing is not going to be without consequence. Okay, so two students — grades 6 and 8 — of a Ghaziabad school were raping a boy from grade 2 (in a classroom, during school hours) — or, as the venerable Times of India describes the activity

forcefully carrying out oral sex with a Class II student.

Ebay’s India CEO in Jail

To cut a long story short, two schoolchildren at the Delhi Public School made a videoclip of classroom sex and sent it to others. It reached everyone and their cousin, and someone sold a copy on Ebay’s Indian website.

In response, the long arm of the law caught up with Ebay’s India CEO and locked him up. Last we heard, he has been denied bail.

Since India is all about locking people up and refusing bail, there the matter would normally rest; but this victim is a US citizen, and the State Department is said to be interested; so the story has the potential to get more interesting.

Arrested for not standing during anthem in theater — 32 years ago!

The banana republic is in full bloom. I think the day is not far when all Indians will arrest each other, refuse bail, and live in custody ever after.

In Maharashtra, that loony bin of nationalism, the local government made the national anthem mandatory before all movies, and everyone was required to stand in attention. Some guy didn’t, and on top of that he is Muslim, and so he has been arrested now, 32 years later
